Happy National Chocolate Week! Now you might not have been aware that this was even an occasion but we can assure you it is, and we don’t need any convincing when it comes to celebrating. From the 14th to the 18th of October chocoholics around the country join together to pay homage to the wonderful invention that is chocolate. So, if you’ve got a sweet tooth you might want to keep reading. Parcel Pete has put together some of his favourite chocolate recipes and we can’t wait to share them with you.
Aero Mint Cheesecake
This no-bake cheesecake is the perfect blend of mint and chocolatey goodness, it’s super easy to make and it’s Parcel Pete approved.
The ingredients will need are 120g digestive biscuits, 85g of melted butter, 350g of chocolate soft cheese, 250g of icing sugar, 250ml of whipping cream and two large bars of aero mint chocolate.
Start by crushing the digestive biscuits and slowly add in the melted butter, mix together and press into the tin. Next, mix together the chocolate soft cheese and the icing sugar together until smooth. Whip the cream and grate the aero mint chocolate, add ¾ of the grated chocolate to the cream mixture and combine with the soft cheese mixture. Spread over the biscuit base and sprinkle over the remaining chocolate. Leave to set in the fridge for at least four hours and enjoy this creamy mint cheesecake with friends or keep it all for yourself (we wouldn’t blame you).
You’re in for a real treat with these delights! These chewy golden cookies with chunks of Toblerone that melt in your mouth are the perfect way to celebrate National Chocolate Week. So firstly, we should probably mention that you can use milk, dark or white chocolate Toblerone and we stock them all!
The ingredients you will need are 226g of salted butter, 200g of brown sugar, 100g of granulated sugar, 1 egg, vanilla extract, 312g of plain flour, 1tsp of baking soda and of course a Toblerone.
Start by combining the butter and sugar until smooth, beat in the egg and vanilla extract. In a separate bowl mix the dry ingredients. Then you need to combine the wet and dry ingredients and add in your chopped Toblerone. Separate into balls and press onto a greased baking tray and bake in a pre-heated oven until golden. Finally, sprinkle over some sea salt, leave to cool and enjoy.
Low sugar brownies
We’re very passionate about National Chocolate Week and we don’t think you should miss out just because you’re on a low sugar diet. These brownies are so chocolatey and gooey, you won’t even notice the difference.
The ingredients you will need are 200g of self-raising flour, 50g of cocoa powder, 1 tsp of bicarbonate of soda, 100g of butter, 100ml semi-skimmed milk, 3 eggs, 1 sweet potato, 1 very ripe banana and a bar of Diablo no added sugar milk chocolate.
To start, preheat your oven to gas mark 6 and grease and line your tin. Next mix your flour, cocoa powder and bicarbonate of soda and make a well in the middle. Melt the butter in a pan until it’s melted and combine with the milk. Add the eggs, grated sweet potato and banana and mix well. Slowly pour into the flour mixture and stir to make a thick batter. Finally, break up the Diablo chocolate into chunks and add into the batter, pour into the tin and bake for 30-35 minutes until they are soft and gooey onto the inside and crispy on the outside. A chocolate lovers heaven!
